The Vatican, like everyone else, engages in profit, usury, taxation
and the coining of currency. They are neither the source nor unique,
but just another cog in the wheel.

One group of "advisors" manages to return a profit of $140 million
per year, according to the Vatican's listserv, which I get daily. Of
course, there may be other groups that do the same thing on the
Vatican's behalf. While a $140 million return would require a
significant endowment, it is not enough to own the world, and
certainly not my mortgage. I have paid interest to the Danish usurer
for many years, and sensing the decline in the market, and the
maturity of my note, he shrewdly sold it to CitiBank. Undoubtedly
they are waiting patiently for me to sell my house, so the next owner
can be similarly enslaved to many years of interest payments.

If the Vatican is "behind" the mortgage mess, it is primarily by
their failure to provide a moral example. That was the complaint of
Luther, whose Protestantism was/is equally avaricious today. The
Jews, Muslims and atheists fare no better by moral standards. (Nor
myself if we are to cast the same net.)

In a generic sense, all the world was once owned by monarchs, of
which the Papal monarch was one. Mortgages in the modern age are
actually owned by yourself and your neighbor, in great likelihood,
since people regularly invest in the stock market while
simultaneously being preyed upon by the companies of the stock
market. For many years I was similarly financially schizophrenic,
whereas now I realize my proper role as a slave in a cultural
delusion that money is real and the mathematical absurdity that
follows. :-)

Perhaps a better question would be, does man own anything? Is
everything subject to the collective will of mindless organizations
and charters? It would seem that Mother Nature, however, never got
the memo. The Earth is owned by the Earth, and our spirit by
ourselves. The condition of both may fluctuate over time, but they
remain essentially unchanged. The only thing that man can claim
ownership to is himself. The battle is not so much over ownership of
the resources as it is the struggles against spirits who cannot grasp
the concept of "mutual interest."
