YES! LETS (Local Exchange and Trading Systems) and other local script 
programs are among the many active options for those who don't like the 
current money system. Credit Unions might be added as places to put 
you meager savings and assure that they are used locally. SRIs 
(Socially Responsible Investing) also helps keep money out of the 
military hands and the oil cartels and into environmental programs. 
CLFs (Community Loan Funds) are local cooperative lending systems. 
Some CLFs limit their loans to cooperatives and are a good way to help 
change the system.

I tithe my savings for CFNE (the Cooperative Fund for New England). 
I've seen it grow in about 10 years from a few thousand dollars to 
over $5,000,000 in loans to cooperatives. At this rate we will soon 
see a cooperative commonwealth available to everyone and the end of 
corporate greed. And, yes, I do participate in a LETS.

All we need is for a few others to stop complaining and DO SOMETHING.
