Dear Mary
Please read the holy Qur'an for references to Bible..
Freke and Gandy appears to have not read the holy Qu'ran. I guess u have not read the Holy Qur'an. Please keep Liptons and Valerie aside for a while. I have been hearing about them for these many years. They describe and there is no prescription for the issues that we are dealing as part of global challenges. We need to unite with inter-faith commons. People in the past ,present and the future will be held accountable for their deeds only on the Day of Judgement.
I started reading that in early 90's as part of understanding the word of Allah..There is always scope for scrutiny. Please use all the intellectual energy..but for the sake of our own temporal and eternal wellebeing, it is important that we get the grace to abide by the work..Freke did injustice to himself for calling Muhammad a mobster in a negeative sense..all the communicators address the masses..

Dear Muhammad, et al,
Freke, and Gandy are highly respected scholarly authors, and check, and double check their information.I am sure they have read the Quran . What they have been trying to do is to get to the "hidden" truth of certain religions.
The book which they wrote about Christianity was quite fascinating. It was called the Jesus Mysteries. It revealed that the Bible teachings concerning the life of Christ were clearly copied in the main from specific tales about Osiris, and Dionysius. However, such claims have been known for decades amongst many Christian scholars. What Freke, and Gandy did was merely to popularize this "revelation". In other words, Christianity is largely a re-hash of pagan, or "heathen" thinking, and beliefs under a different name....
As far as I am concerned this does not undermine a personal belief in Christ. It merely expands it into something more extraordinary, and wonderful. The Real Christ is the PURE HIGHER INNER SELF. It does not matter (eg. Allah, Krishna, Ram, et al)what name you give It because what matters is your FAITH, AND BELIEF in It. The SELF is nothing but a projection from God, and is WHO, AND WHAT WE REALLY ARE without all the negative mental/emotional baggage. So, all this religious bickering about who has the real ultimate spiritual authority becomes essentially meaningless in the light of all this.

mary rose: : Robert, I am much in agreement with you here, and so is science. I have written much on how the "inner Christ or kristed consciousness emerges from within our human biological/physiological makeup, and is a natural part of our beingness. It is something that resides "in here" and not "out there," but it does connect us to the rest of the Universe via our heart beat.
Dr. Alam, I am concerned with regard to your request that I "Please keep Liptons and Valerie aside for a while" since you have been: "hearing about them for these many years," and that they only "describe" and do not offer any prescriptions. I very much differ with you. Let me quote from research scientist Thomas Jenuwein (Vienna, Austria) “The long-standing question of nature versus nurture begs the question: to what extent does genetic determination vis-a-vis environment-driven signals affect the development and personal profiles of given individuals? Thanks to epigenetic research, we now know there are mechanisms beyond genetic determinism (there is no ‘intelligent design’) and that gives us the freedom to live as true individuals. This is best exemplified by genetically identical twins that can develop distinct disease profiles and life projections. Thus, ‘we are more than the sum of our genes’, and epigenetic research is likely to have significant impact on cultural and ethical values in our ‘post-genomic’ society.” ( Gene - A basic unit of DNA. This may encode for a protein, or might only be made into RNA. DNA is transcribed into an RNA template, which is used to generate the sequence of amino-acids that make up the protein.) For further information on this, may I suggest again reviewing Dr. Bruce Lipton's DVD: "The New Biology - Where Mind and Matter Meet". or "Nature, Nurture and the Power of Love - the Biology of Conscious Parenting"
It is very much about "energy" in its different forms and how these emanate and effect our actions, both mentally and and physically. It is about how we can learn to manage these subtle energy vibrations as they morph into the "emotions" that we feel and express. The difficult part of this is translating the biological/physiological functions into words that the general public can understand. This is one of the reasons that Dr. Bruce Lipton's DVD "The New Biology" is so helpful. With his understanding of how the cell works he has been able to set up a graphic demonstration that is easily understood by those not familiar with biological terms, as to how our perception of our environment influences the subtle energy flow of our body.
What I believe that you are trying to say here is that only religion, and in the form of the Moslem belief, has the ability to control humanity for its own good. And, while you see this belief and science to be diametrically opposed, I do not. Scientific knowledge applied to your belief system could greatly enhance it.
On another subject, Freke and Gandy's books represent the views of the Gnostics, and are related in part to the Nag Hammadi. http://www.nag-hammadi.com/
and, as well to the Dead Sea Scrolls http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea_Scrolls As we learn from reviewing these sites, these documents were only discovered
in the very recent past.
The Dead Sea Scrolls refer to the Nefilim mentioned in the Bible, and as well, to the Book of Enoch, which was left out of the Bible at the time of the Council of Nicea.
So, the Bible as we know it today only includes the history of what the Roman Empire wanted included in it in order to support the belief system they wanted to impose upon the world.
And, what it omits is any reference to "her story" which is the worship of The Great Mother. And, prior to that, the Sumerian Tablets which tell the story of the Annunaki or Nefilim as they are
referred to in the Bible, as well as the so-called "pagan religions" included the worship of The Great Mother and the Mythraic religion. Many of the rites of the Mythraic religion appear to have been
incorporated into Christianity at the time it became the official religion of Rome.
What appears to be the point here is that the Bible as it is today leaves out much of the history that preceded Christianity, and as well, mistranslations have been made through
human error down through the ages. Also, parts of the Bible, were greatly distorted for political gain by Roman rulers. So, what appears to me is that the Romans concocted
a version of Christianity to further their political interests, not to promote the "word of God". .And, the same appears true for the Muslim faith.
And what Freke and Gandy are saying, as am I, is that the Bible is not based in truth, nor is the Koran, as both omit previous religions from a historical perspective. Or, at the very least,
this is the position that literalists take. And, in so-doing neglect to see the whole dynamic of the situation while disenfranchising women from their rightful place in society. . . .
At the time Christianity came into being, the Mediterranean area was seething with many religious and magical ideas and practices all mixed together to create a variety of syncretistic religions.
So, if the Roman Empire was to rule, would it not be of benefit to designate one religion through which to exercise control? And, that control to be exercised through creating a "fear of God"
in the people? Another question for consideration is "why did the Church initially forbid people to access God through natural means, e.g., prayer or meditation, and decree that God could only be
accessed through a priest ordained by the Church? There appears to be a contradiction here in that in the New Testament it states: "The Kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)
The other thing that needs to be considered here is the burning of the libraries in Alexandria in Egypt by the Romans at the time of the founding of the Holy Roman Catholic Church?. Shouldn't
we be questioning why there were several attempts to obliterate all prior recorded history of that time? New findings and interpreations of Egyptian culture indicate it is a civilization far older than
is commonly believed. A civilization totally dedicated to the study of human consciousness, one structured around forms of cosmic knowledge involving astronomical and geographical competence
that modern science has yet to attain. Was the destruction of the libraries in Egypt by the Romans an effort to conceal this informaton in order to promote Christianity inb the form of the Holy
Roman Catholic Church?
There are a lot of questions, but few honest answers withcoming from these religious sects. And, I do not understand why you keep telling me to "read the Qu'ran" -- I am counting on your
ability to interpret the Qu'ran for me since you are the expert in that area not me. But to expect me to confine my area of interest to the Qu'ran is certainly, IMHO, very audacious since I am writing
a book based in science. What appears to me is that if religion were the answer, we would have ceased having problems long ago. Instead it seems only to have exerbated the problems because it is
so devisive. . . . .
