Dear Mary

Please read the holy Qur'an for references to Bible..
 Freke and Gandy appears to have not read the holy Qu'ran. I guess u have not read the Holy Qur'an. Please keep Liptons and Valerie aside for a while. I have been hearing about them for these many years. They describe and there is no prescription for the issues that we are dealing as part of global challenges. We need to unite with inter-faith commons.  People in the past ,present and the future will be held accountable for their deeds only on the Day of Judgement. 
 
I started reading that in early 90's as part of understanding the word of Allah..There is always scope for scrutiny. Please use all the intellectual energy..but for the sake of our own temporal and eternal wellebeing, it is important that  we get the grace to abide by the work..Freke did injustice to himself for calling Muhammad a mobster in a negeative sense..all the communicators address the masses..

IMHO, i feel that anything published as "the word of God" 
should be scrutinized from every angle because there are
so many people who have been "enculturated" from birth
to believe the Bible is beyond scrutiny as every word was
written by God.  
 
When, in fact, as Freke and Gandy ask:
 
"What if the old testament is a work of fiction, Jesus never 
existed, and Muhammed was a mobster?   .  .
