What I like about Al Gore is that he has stepped outside of the political arena
and is addressing "what needs to be addressed" instead of attempting to win
votes.
What I would like to see is for us as a group of Co-learner's, to design a plan to
present to the Buckminster Fuller Challenge next year, and incorporate into
it Gore's plan to move into renewable energy in 10 years. And from where I sit,
I understand that on this list we have considerable talent with knowledge of
Zero Point Energy -- so we are not limited here and can incorporate all forms
of renewable energy into the plan.
One of the hold-ups that I see is that it takes from 20 - 30 years to accomplish
enough distribution to make a difference once a product is designed and in production.
So, we would have to go into warp speed in order to overcome the distribution problem.
Another thing we need to understand is that once we move into renewable energy that
is going to require a different economic system than that of today. And, possbily, we
need both a local economy and an international monetary system. So, I don't believe
we can limit ourselves to one economic plan, but must have several viable plans in
place and find out from small steps initially, what works and what doesn't before we move
into an international system. If there is a fire, let's keep it small so that it can be controlled
locally. We cannot, in my opinion, afford to let happen again what is happening now simpl
because the system is too large to manage effectively and effects the whole world when
it gets out of control.
But anyway, everybody listen to Gore, and then let's put together a plan, and then go after
his support for our "whole big picture plan".
