      Mother Nature Not Serving Any Free Lunches

      The way the drug companies tell it (to you and doctors alike) you can poison any enzyme system you like to get whatever impact ("treatment") you're looking for and everything's just fine. That's called "reductionism" and it ignores holistic considerations. You see, the problem is that Mother (Mother Nature, that is) is quite a thrifty lady.  She doesn't like to throw away things that work and saves them, knowing that, like that big rubberband at the back of your desk drawer, it might some day come in handy.

      When Mother comes up with a great enzyme system (and they are pretty complicated so making a good one that works properly takes some doing!), she uses it in more than one place.  For example, you may be familiar with Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors or SSRIs as they are widely known.

      SSRI's inhibit (that means "poison" the enzymes that pick up a molecule of serotonin in the space between the working ends of two neurons, pull it back into one of them, process the serotonin molecule and use it again to transmit information to another neuron by sending it out into the synapse (space) again.

      That means, hopefully, that the serotonin hangs around longer in the space and exerts its impact on more cells for longer.

      Of course, there are serious and long-lasting consequences (side effects) from messing around with this system that most of us are familiar with --- like suicide, homicide, permanent brain damage, depression, mania, seizures, permanent worm-like movement disorders, seizures, death and so on.

      In fact, the brains of children may be particularly susceptible to these poisoning events but SSRIs found a great market in kids: they live a long time after they start on the drugs (mostly) and they have no say in the matter so no matter how awful it makes them feel, they have to take the stuff if grown ups tell them to. Even after they try to kill themselves (unless they succeed) or someone else, they get kept on the drug and more drugs are usually added.

      If that weren't awful enough (and Mother and I think it's pretty awful), Mother's been at her thrifty work again. She uses the very same serotonin system at the place where bones are being formed - their surfaces. So, after dosing kids with these dangerous substances whose "adverse events" lead to higher doses and more drugs like the first (because the "side effects" are very similar to what got the person on the drugs in the first place), we learned that some of these kids were developing old people's weak bones -- osteoporosis.

      Mother is not pleased, but she knows, as you know, there are Natural Solutions to these horrors... and Mother needs your help to make those solutions possible.

      Singing the Blues in B (Flat)

      Yesterday the FDA announced that a long list of antibiotics will finally require a new "Black Box Warning" label.

      Well known and widely over-used and misprescribed antibiotics like Cipro (R) which can be associated with a three-fold increase of a painful and potentially crippling condition in which a tendon ruptures.  Tendons are poorly supplied with blood so they do not heal well but they are richly supplied with nerves so damage to them is exquisitely painful.

      Vitamin B 6 and other B Vitamins are either made or processed in the gut.  When suppressed or blocked, nutritional deficits result which have profound effects all over the body.  So, in addition to killing beneficial bacteria and interfering with the control of fungus like Candida, antibiotics deprive your body of nutrients it needs for health.

      Tendons are very sensitive to B6 deficiencies (as well as other B Vitamin deficiencies) so it should come as no surprise that killing off the bacteria in the gut and blocking the uptake and action of B6 would lead to - guess what - tendon rupture.  You see, we share a lot of enzymes with bacteria (remember, Mother is thrifty) and poisoning them poisons us.  No surprise there. Vitamin B 6 (pyridoxine) interferes with the absorption of these antibiotics and they interfere with its actions.

      Avalanche on Side Effect Mountain

      Sliding down Side Effect Mountain can kill you or make you very, very sick, and then kill you, especially if more than one drug is involved in what is mistakenly called "Health Care" but is better called "Illness Care". You live long enough, however, to generate huge profits for the Illness Business.

      Even the term "side effects" makes it sound like the sometimes disastrous, and frequently lethal unintended consequences of drugs (combined with chronic nutrition deficits from our industrialized diet), are a surprise.

      Although they may truly be unintended, adverse effects are not unanticipated - they are well known and catalogued in such widely available resources as the Physician's Desk Reference (c) or PDR (c) which lists a truly horrifying, and not necessarily uncommon, list of adverse events for each and every drug.

      Now, these adverse events are the ones left after the drug companies eliminate any one who does not respond well to the drug before the trial and then chuck out people who have adverse events during the trials or die - those people's adverse events are usually not counted because they did not "finish the trial." When you look at the list of awful anticipated but unfortunate consequences of poisoning enzyme systems (which is the common mechanism by which every drug achieves its effects, anticipated or not), you are looking at the tip of the tip of the tip of the top of the mountain.

      The same is especially true with vaccinations... which, as you well know, is an uninsurable risk... no parent, doctor or drug company can buy insurance against the anticipated harm caused by vaccinations, that's why the government adds a tax to the cost of each shot, to fund the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program that has paid out over two billion dollars to the families of kids killed or maimed by vaccinations. And that's one reason why Natural Solutions Foundation is so opposed to mandated vaccinations.

      For Shame!

      What's fascinating, of course, is that Natural Solutions, like vitamins, minerals, herbs and so on do not work the same way.  They support enzyme function, not poison it.  That's why their safety margin is so astonishingly good and their dangers have to be trumped up and created by the drug companies to make misinformed people shy away from them.

      That is, sadly, one of the reasons that what used to be respectable Medical Journals are such corrupt and poor information sources today.  The scandals and exposes are legion, so are the books and articles documenting it.  But the FDA continues on as if drugs and vaccines were safe and allowing them was somehow "protecting public health"

      So those of us who want to use natural methods of health care and therapy have to be prepared to not only be informed and find practitioners who are informed, we have to be prepared to pay for lunch.

      Just as we cannot expect to get away with poisoning ourselves and not paying for it, we cannot let the drug companies, inside and outside of government pay for their lunches and trust them to keep our first choices, natural medicine and clean food, safe.  Both natural medicine and clean, unadulterated food cut away at the profits of the largest industry on earth, one that makes a profit every single time you or someone you live is sick, and the sicker and longer the better.
