Any more views on this matter?
There are 88 subscribers to this list but we rarely hear from most of them.
It would be good to know how many are keep away because of material presented by some of us.

I thought the name of this list was the Global Justice Movement. Its beginning to
sound more like a facist organization to me when people start demanding that
others be removed from the list, or that messages be limited in number.
What's wrong with using the delete key and just posting and replying to what
interests you? And stop being concerned about what others are doing or not
doing.
Decisions need to be made in the "best interests of all concerned" do they not?
and in making intelligent decisions in the best interests of all concerned is it not
best to be well informed on all issues?

Janos
Could you kindly remove Ryan/Hogwood etc from the list?
Robert, could I ask you not to feed trolls when they appear?
And Mary Rose, could you perhaps ration the number of your posts either by number or subject matter?
Thanks
Chris Cook

Dear All,
?
?
????????? It seems that Bill Ellis has?"seen the light", and realized that it costs money to feed the millions starving to death each year. The solution ofcourse, and many other relevant matters is?my project TRANSFINANCIAL ECONOMICS.

Bill Ellis writes in part:?
?
"There could still be a market system for other foods. Those wanting to
eat meat, imports and other exotic foods should be allowed to buy it."
?
mary rose:? Really!!!! So, let's just continue the process of colonialization
with the wealthy being able to do as they choose while the poor people
suffer is what you are saying here -- the rich elite still need to have their
privileges? Why haven't you included illegal drugs in this?list???
?
It seems to me that decisions have to be made "in the best interests of
all concerned,":and how can it be in the best interests of all concerned to
eat meat when 1) raising?cattle for beef production is now found to be the?
number one contributor?to greenhouse gases.? And, 2)?cycling grain through
cattle is a very inefficient means of food production -- millions more people?
could be fed is beef were eliminated from our diet.? And, 3) meat-eating has?
been found to increase the risks of incurring heart disease and cancer?
substantially.??
?
The same is true of production for export of exotic fruits, of which coffee is
one. Export for sale of exotics deprives people of the developing world the
right to land for?subsistence, and is therefore a driving factor behind worldwide
migration?which had reached the rate?100 million people in 1997.?I do not?
have the current figures, but they?must be much higher now.?
?
Looks to me like you are trying to promote special interest groups here.?
Maybe you should run for Congress.?
?
And, if you feel I am being harsh, I'm still thinking about that young lady
we saw on the video yesterday, taking us adults to task, and rightfully so.?
Maybe you should watch that message again.
?
with love and in gratitude for all that you do, Bill, and for all that we do together.?
?
mary rose?
?
We must be the?change we wish to see in our lives.?M. Gandhi.? I think that?
means 'walking our talk'. ???????????

I challenge this statement.
The problem is not food production. The world already produces twice
the food calories needed for an adequate diet and could produce even
more. The problem is money. Food costs money. It is part of the
world market.
What is needed is a two level global food system. Every person on
Earth should be given free food for and adequate diet.
That amount of food should be a human right. That is the global free
food level. Small local gardens should be supported by and for all of
us
There could still be a market system for other foods. Those wanting to
eat meat, imports and other exotic foods should be allowed to buy it.
IMHO
