[GJM] Noise

Mary and Chris,

I don't think this discussion is idiotic. We've got some good
angels, and then we've got some bad ones.

Trying to keep an Internet discussion group on track and PRODUCTIVE
can be very hard.

There are always one or two bad apples, that can rot a germinating
SOMETHING that might be truly promising.

This is where good moderators come in, and let me tell you from
personal experience –– it's a REALLY tough job.

The Global Justice Movement is trying to accomplish a lot of things.
And you're right; the horse/cart might be backwards in trying to
accomplish some monetary reforms when most people hold on tight to
various religious dogmas as if it's their only lifeline (like my
Mom). My Mom and I can practically never have an intelligent
discussion on anything (like some of the dangers of getting into a
reverse mortgage contract with her local Wall St. bank), because she
spends most of her time patiently waiting for Jesus Christ to return
on a cloud.

But, alas, that's what we have to work with.

Evil is real. I don't think we can ever eradicate it. Probably best
we can do is balance this negative power with positive power.
Transcendence is possible; but most people seem to only get into
hostile and violent dualities.

If this list is going to be worthwhile to monitor and participate in,
there has to be some standards. I'm not interested in a fire-flaming
free-for-all. It's counter-productive, negative and not-loving.

Like you, I'm looking for Love where I can find it.

Regards,
Steve Nieman
