Dear Robert,
I think you are way off the mark.
1. Videos are not completely suitable for much detail but, in any case, you will not have heard Robert Ashford or Norm Kurland advocating interest-bearing money for forms of productive capacity. It is likely that you have misunderstood a sentence or two from Kurland in a video. But why don't you ask him yourself? -- thirdway at cesj.org
Moreover, all the latest developments in binary economics are to be found in Seven Steps to Justice and The Modern Universal Paradigm and, in particular, by far the best internet website on binary economics and its developments is www.binaryeconomics.net where the uses of interest-free loans are as clearly set out as far as it is possible to clearly set things out on the internet. Do a Google and the website comes out at the top (when I do a Google) and, also, the Google administrators are now kindly promoting this website by selecting a page from the website and putting it up separately (at the moment, it is the Links page but the Environment, Present, History and Loans have also been separately done and the pages are being periodically rotated). The separate page generally comes up second or so.
Also, internet articles on binary economics are now much more numerous.
And why not visit the Norm Kurland's extensive website on binary economics? www.cesj.org And Ashford's papers are also on the internet.
2. I am puzzled by your saying that interest-free reform is unlikely. Your meaning is ambigous. Are you saying that you think that debt-free, 'printed' money is the more likely reform possibility?
Or are you saying that it is impossible ever to get interest-free reform?
On this matter Peter Challen recently met Bernard Lietaer who was shown some text (roughly reflecting the position in Seven Steps to Justice). Bernard said the text is technically correct but (to the effect) that the present inertia and forces are such that such reform will never happen (which is why he is concentrating on complementary currencies). Is this what you mean?
Incidentally Bernard's position is the same as he stated to Peter and I in Kuala Lumpur in 2002 BUT he is acutely aware of the present world situation, expects big developments and he kindly agreed to consider certain matters that Peter put to him.
Rodney
