read the job spec, I knew that they were based in the
stone age [I sent a job application any way]. So, I
thought I might alert abc/rn people to a global MIND

I heard Professor Masters on ABC/rn on education.
I am a systems designer with a focus on health,
education & finance/treasury arenas.
I attach a cv with my some of my skills.
It is VERY hard getting change in the areas where I
work, as Professor Masters may have experienced. The
key reasons are due to 'legacy' mind set, emotional
hysteria from 'consumer groups/parents/pollies and so
on [students rarely get to have a say in what
happens].
My phd was in the general area of "risk management" in
treasury operations in the department of actuarial &
economics at Melbourne University.
I am very familiar with education systems and teacher
training as a result of doing three graduate diplomas
in education - my primary goals were to assess the
teachers and systems of administration, assessment and
testing methods. Further, I have a great deal of
education in psychology of a formal and informal kind.
I have written extensively on management system design
with valid, reliable and timely indicators.
With regard to the specific skills that you ask for I
will list the level of skills as certified by a
reputable institution[s] with the capacity to 'prove'
each aspect that I claim.
a. I am familiar with "IRT (item response theory)" in
connection with health care data [same method with dif
names i.e., tech is same]. I used SPSS and SAS and
'other' software as my key tools of analysis and
synthesis.
b. I have extensive knowledge of data collection,
construction, and manipulation with many millions of
records in health care and treasury operations. I use
matlab for simulation, model testing/validation and
data manipulation - this has the additional benefit of
generating source C++ code that can serve as a basis
for psych people to stress test any model[s], WITH the
capacity to adapt models on an as required basis.
c. My phd gave rise to commercial outputs [three
software products] of high value and my three phd
supervisors were experts in model selection/testing,
econometrics and neural networks of learning and
actuarial maths/stats and 'wave mechanics'!
d. My key areas of formal and informal education has
been in the general area of 'adaptive control systems'
along the lines of cybernetics and electrical
engineering. I have tested my knowledge in a practical
and educational setting over many yeras e.g., three
years voluntary teaching with Maori. Further, my key
interests lay in education [teaching and learning] in
'life skills' for indigenous people, with a focus on
literacy & numeracy in business ethics [rules of fair
play as the social context and content changes over
our life time[s]].
e. As a general matter, I offer superior system design
skills and capacity in a wide range of areas that may
prove to be extremely useful to a wide range of your
people.
f. I am highly adaptable and learn quickly in a
practical and pos social environment.
