PRESS STATEMENT
The Indian press would be busy magnifying the
matter as if this so-called 'fatwa' has come as a bolt
from the blue and reflects the sentiments of the whole
community.Let me set the issue in true perspective
before it is blown out of proportions and the process
of actions and reactions starts.
There is nothing serious about it. As found
everywhere, such 'maulvis' are lunatic fringes of
Muslim community. Occasionally they attempt to
establish their idiotic credentials through their
stupidity - sometimes they measure the dress of Sania
Mirza, sometimes issue perposterous 'fatwas' against
Imrana and so on. They have become extremely crazy for
TV shots and so these foolish actions fulfil their
ambitions as the media of the country flashes them
every where. The UP elections are round the corner, and
,therefore,in all probability they have been released
from the camps of some political party on certain
meagre payment to embarrass the Congress because
granting the citizenship lies within the domain of the
central government.
India is a multi-cultural society. There is nothing
wrong if it gives citizenship to Tasleema Nasreen,
who is nothing more than an ordinary woman, but is
being glorified by these stupid 'maulvis' and their
ilk. May be she must have mistakenly treated the
character of such ' MAULVIS' as the model of Muslim
society, and on that basis would have come out with
her imbecile utterances against Islam.Let these
'maulvis' understand, if they have got the sense to,
that at this time when the whole community is
besieged, they must not fritter away their energy in
these fatuous matters.
