Thanks to Tim Jones on some first hand feed back
on solar power and its practicality. Tim is a member of
the EnergyResources List which has about 1200 members
studying energy problems.
I don't believe the answer is "nuke power" Tim, because
the numbers just don't make good sense let alone the other
associated dangers inherent with it. We can't work with
something that takes more power to create than it produces.
Give me a break.
We have to come up with something new and we know that
the power brokers have already taken Tessla's
research and applied it, but won't let it get into private
hands. They're using it in the HAARP program and for the
God only knows what else related to weapons and mass
destruction. Let's stop sticking our heads in the sand and
saying that a "safe and reliable energy source" doesn't exit
because it already does exist, but is being used in the wrong
way. It's being used as a destructive force rather than as a life-
enhancing power source.
Its all about using the sutble energy vibrations of the universe.
These are the same subtle energy vibrations that make up the
human body (consciousness) and every other "coded energy field"
which creates form and provides structure, whether it be mind or
matter. And we can use it either in a coherent manner for peaceful
means or we can create chaos with it as the present.cabal is doing.
Anyone not comprending the difference between "power" and
"force" get a copy of David R. Hawkins book "Power vs. Force:
The Hidden Determinants in Human Behavior" - read it and
then learn how to apply it.
And, as to my being gone before the coastal rise, I am not blind
and viewing the amount of glacial melt tells me differently. Gore
estimates say it will happen "within his lifetime". The visual evidence
supports that.

Subject: Re: More Consequences re: nuclear reactors - Jim Bell
I wonder if Mr. Bell actually uses solar power.
I do.
I have 6.5 kW of grid tied solar with 16 large batteries
able to supply 3 days of juice to critical loads when the
grid fails.
It ain't all it's cracked up to be. In winter, during cloudy
days in Texas the input to the grid is low - certainly NOT
turning the meter backwards. The electric furnace is not
in the critical load system so gas or a plug-in space
heater has to be used. So much for three days of battery
power.
Even in a house with 18 inch thick straw clay walls
it gets cold in a few hours when the grid goes down.
So much for feeling at ease when peak oil really
skyrockets the cost of hydrocarbon fuels.
I guess I could have set up the house to burn down the
woods when it gets cold, but we like our woods - not
to mention avoiding the addition of even more GHG
to increase global warming.
Mr. Bell should investigate third and forth generation
nuclear power before he asserts nukes are a big mistake.
The big mistake is that we're tied to old technology.
Solar may be fine in sunny California. Start moving
north and the cost of an adequate array becomes
ridiculous.
I'm in Texas. Central Texas. $85,000 worth of solar
left us cold in an ice storm a few days ago. The best
we've saved is where the electric bill was cut in half
this summer.
Of course you could live a primitive life and get by
on solar power for the lights and fridge and water pump
for the rain water cistern and waste water system.
You could use a wood burning stove.
Do you think this would work in a city? Please explain
(rationally) how you can really get away from coal fired
power.
Do the reality checks for the civilization we live in.
IMHO Mr. Bell's assertions are mostly hysteria.
BTW. You'll be long gone before the 20 - 40 foot rise
in sea level.
