I am forwarding here a comment from Dave Ewoldt and
interspersing comments on issues with which I disagree or
want to provide greater insight.

Here's a gift that you can give to anyone who would like to return to being
whole brain--unplug their TV and go spend a couple of weeks with them in an
ecosystem that is as natural as possible reconnecting all 53 of your senses
to
their natural roots.

Eco: I agree with you that unplugging the TV is a good idea, but I feel a
better
one is to disseminate valid informative information via this medium where by

we can get easily understood graphic information in front of masses of
people
at one time. Symbolism being more easily understood than text elps to
to eliminate language barriers

We do need to stop the propaganda and one way to do that in how s to stop
viewing
the propaganda machine until corporate sponsors get the message that we
are no longer interested in doing it "their way" and are ready to
disseminate tools
that enable and empower people in accomplishing their own transformation
without
outside influence. We need to take a firm stand against the corruption that
is taking
place and stop the tyrranical regime of the present government
administration. We
need to know the truth, clearly presented in a historical context, and
learn how and
why society was brought to this current position, what we need to learn from
it and
how to transform it to a win-win.

We- the-people must stop playing "victim" and learn to bring our full
potential to the scene
and act with complete presence (full consciousness) in order to reverse the
current trend.
We need mass healing/transformation. And the statistics given above
certainly certainly
reveal that this cannot be a "quick fix" as you keep indicating; and which
is beginning
to indicate to me that you yourself have some "holodynes" which are holding
you hostage
in a downdraft mode in your development -- but then you aren't alone -- none
of us is free
from this . . . Which is why we all need a "morror-back".

I agree with you that we need to reconnect people to their Earth Mother as
part of the
healing process. We also need to begin to raise our own food in our local
communities,
and, much of it will have to be accomplished indoors under controlled
circumstances until
we learn to adapt to climate change sufficiently to know what can be grown
safely
out-of-doors, and in what regions.

A good place to start with this kind of healing modality would be in prison
populations
where it can be a "recommended program for rehabilitation" shown to be
beneficial to both inmates and the public at large. Combined with Brain Gym
and the Heart Math Institute programs, this type of program overall,
overseen by research scientists like David Pimental, David Suzuki, and Carla
Hannaford, Ph.D. (author of Smart Moves -Why Learning is not all in your
head, and Brain Dominance) could make a major impact toward creating a dent
in the
challenges we face in the days ahead.

Especially since we have the largest prison population here in the U.S.
today.
Another statistic that has to tell you something about our collective mental
state.

A great book on how gardening helps to heal is: "Shovel It" by Dr. Eva Shaw

Both easy to read and informative - I recommend it.

Dave continues:
Anyway, I see that statistic as a sign of hope! Since 25% of us can think
systemicly, and 50% of us are on Prozac, we're the overwhelming majority :-)

Dave, I don't find this funny -- especially since the statistics also reveal
that
almost 29% percent of the population of the U.S. has been declared mentally
ill, and that in addition to the 50% you say are on Prozac, the U.S. uses
40%
of all the world's illegal drug production.

All of these statistics heavily imply that we are a very sick society,
suffering from
several different pathologies, which unfortunately "acts in denial of" and
maintains
its behavior is normal. And, it is obvious that the methods of healing we
have been
using for the past 30 years are not working, since conditions get worse
every year.

Dave continues:

A quick correction. It was _not_ based on matriarchy. Eisler was rather
clear
about this, on numerous occasions throughout the book. It was based on
equalitarian principles of partnership, where differences, either in gender
or
occupation, were seen as strengths to be drawn on to support the whole.

eco: I beg to differ with you Dave. Eisler specifically states that these
were
matriachially-based societies in which property was passed down in the name
of the woman. It was a time when worship of the Goddess and the Great Earth

Mother, as told in mythology, were the accepted norm. Burial sites show
women
goddesses/priestesses on raised platforms with men buried a level below them

However, in this gylanic society women did not view themselves as superior
and
preferred the equality of a "partnership" arrangement. What was most
noticeable
at these archaeological sites was the lack of any armaments or means of
defense
against attack. There were no walled cities to keep out invaders.

Evidence of gylanic-matriachial, "partnership societies" have been found at
Native
American archaeological sites as well as in the region of Mesopotamia and
especially on Crete.

The idea of a male god did not arise until after the invasion by
Indo-European
cultures. The invasion was mainly conducted by warrior-type men known as
"Kurgans" for the round burial sites they built. These men came out of the
Russian
steppes region and were the first to raise horses which could be ridden.
This
allowed that them to breed and maintain large herds of cattle derived mostly
from
the giant Arochs, or long-horned cattle of that time. They also learned how
to make
weapons of copper and became the Greek gods of the sky. Out of this culture

emerged the vision of a masculine god and his son along with the holy ghost
which
became the basis for the Christian belief system instituted by the Emperor
Constantine at the Council of Nicea.

Prior to the advent of Christianity, the Mithraic belief system or religion
was in effect.
It was based on "bovine" worship and mainly of the bull as it represented
virility".
This emphasis on male virility was the basis for the dominator paradigm and
the
androcratic society which arose to disenfranchise the goddess and denigrate
the
feminine replacing it with the patriachial Parts of the Mithraic religion
were incorporated
into Christianity. Emperor Constantine was then to choose between the two
systems
and begin the first attempt at the "social-engineering" of society.

I am currently working on an article based on the series of events which
occured and
led to Christianity based on historical facts. What is most interesting is
how the Kurgan
cattle culture became "secularized" with the European long horn being the
front runner
for the Latinization of the Americas and the Southwest cattle culture of the
U.S. Largely
pushed by the priests/missionaries, who initially benefited greatly from
their endeavors. The role that the British played in making the cattle
culture what it is in
the U.S., as the third largest revenue-producing industry today, is truly
amazing. But
as the story unfolds, the sickness that this movement carries with it is
horrendous to
behold as one begins to realize just how much this culture is responsible
for the
enormous amount of environmental devastation that has been wreaked upon the
world
so that a relatively few people could indulge themselves in fatted beef.

It is tremendously difficult for me to even write about this, so horrifying
is it..I can only work
on it for short periods at a time. But I do want to get it ready for
publication to this list in
the near future -- the impact of the story of beef, money and religion
coupled together, is
immense.
