For the benefit of the lists that participate in the
Co-learner's Dialogue, I have modified this letter slightly
by removing the graphic content contained in a header.

I felt this letter from Swami aka Steve Bhaerman, fits in with our dialog
entitled "Too Optimistic".

Steve has mentioned several times the book he and Dr. Bruce Lipton are
currently co-authoring and I am anxiously awaiting its publication.

To learn more about the "new science and spirituality" I heartily recommend
Dr. Lipton's book: "The Biology of Belief - unleashing the power of
consciousness, matter, and miracles" Easy to read and digest, complete
with diagrams and charts, its a fun and exciting adventure that opens up
multiple-dimensions for an expanded future almost too magnificent to imagine
 Its one of the reference books I'm using for "The Sacred Quest".

We only need the courage of an open mind to enter into this holodynamic and
scientifically-based, multi-dimensional future. The choice is ours to make.

Stayed tuned to the Co-Learner's List. There's more exciting news and
discussion
ahead.

Spontaneous Re-Mission
January 15, 2007
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Friends,
Well, here it is another year -- unless, of course, you follow the Jewish
calendar and are already three months ahead of us, or the Chinese calendar
where you’re still waiting to catch up. That old fashioned almost obsolete
notion of “new year’s resolutions” does evoke one powerful and useful idea,
and that is ... every year, every day and every moment presents an
opportunity for rewriting of programs and reinvention of reality. If I were
more cynical than I am, I might suggest that most of us humans are being
“remotely controlled” by dead people.
Many of the ideas we accept as “true” -- and some so invisible we don’t even
realize they’re beliefs -- are really interpretations, and
misinterpretations at that. One of the great things that I’m learning as I
co-write a book on science, spirit and the body politic with Bruce Lipton is
 how many of these notions that seem to be part of conventional wisdom (e.g.
 only matter matters, survival of the fittest, our genes are our destiny,
and evolution as is a random process) have actually been disproven by
science. At the same time, our beliefs about “reality” might do more to
create that reality than we imagine. As quantum physics tells us, the act of
observation can actually change what is being observed. And as medical
literature tells us (although they hate to admit it), a placebo that has no
active ingredients can be as effective as the actual medication, and in some
cases more effective.
So as we face a world seemingly in need of a miraculous cure, let’s remember
that spontaneous remission is based on our own “spontaneous re-missioning”
-- changing, individually and collectively, our mission from “every man for
himself” to “we’re all in this together,” and remembering as Einstein said
that “the field always governs the particle.” What comprises the field are
our own thoughts, beliefs and actions -- and those belief systems that are
in place already. When we question questionable beliefs and offer more
constructive suggestions, we end up “deconstructing” obsolete beliefs and
strengthening the field for something new and healing to show up.
And we have only to look at the “lowly” bacteria for guidance and
inspiration. When bacteria that cannot digest lactose are put in a lactose
environment, the stress from this dire situation activates a process of
rapid and random mutation. It’s as if the “intelligence” of the bacteria is
involved in a “brainstorm” process to find a way to survive. Not all the
bacteria survive, but those that do eventually mutate an enzyme that can
digest lactose. This new adaptive mutation is then encoded in the genetic
material of the bacteria. This rapid adaptive mutation process explains how
bacteria become resistant to antibiotics.
It also offers human society a pathway to spontaneous and emergent change --
by testing new behaviors in the context of a shared intention, in this case
to heal our planetary environment and become conscious co-creators of
harmonious reality. If this sounds impossibly idealistic -- well, consider
the alternative.
And yet, nothing is guaranteed. Not all the bacteria make it, but those that
do keep trying new things with a singular intention -- their survival.
Humanity too requires a singular intention, although no single human will
survive if the environment doesn’t. That means our singular intention must
be species survival, what we call “thrival” -- maximum freedom for the
individual and maximum benefit for the whole. Only this seemingly
“impossible” reconciliation of these perceived opposites can create the
“spontaneous re-mission” and the “emergent human” our spiritual teachers
have told us is our destiny.
 success and promotion, please respond to this email and put in subject area
Swami Travels Beyond the Higher States
Since most of my time is being spent writing right now, we have only one
event booked for January, a trip not just to the higher states, but beyond.
Yes, on the weekend of January 27th-28th we will be flying over those higher
Swami will be doing his bit to combat global warming by spending a weekend
where it is really, really cold. Of course, the reception will be warm, and
we expect the show to be pretty darn hot as well. Just in case you live in
Edmonton or know folks who do, here are the details:
