Dear Urban,
As the initial founder of this list and one who was very naive in so-doing,
I felt at one time
government could "be fixed". After a tremendous amount of research, and
even resigning in
protest over the way this list was headed at one time, decided to return
after the passing of
a co-leader here, feeling that I might influence the list in heading in a
more realistic direction.
However, a mainly male contingent seems to be entrenched in taking it in a
different direction
than that in which it was originally intended.
Therefore, I do not have the time to waste by following someone else's lead
in responding to their posts in the manner in which they want me to respond.
I do believe it is very audacious of you
to keep demanding that people reply to what you write in the manner in which
you want them to do so, because it implies "only you are right" and the rest
of us must follow your lead and give no "alternative arguement". Sorry God
but there is also a Goddess in the house who demands to be heard as well as
"other people" who were all "created equal'.
With regard to the below, I am of the opinion that too many people,
including most of those
here in the FixGov list, (mainly men) are more interested in "saving the
current lifestyle"
rather than in doing anything concrete with regard to aiding in restoring
our life support system
in a manner which would allow it to continue doing its job. I get
increasingly tired of the continuing rhetoric and tokenism here on the list
from those appearing to want to preserve "national economies" (by doing away
with certain of its features) at the cost of the individual, the community,
and the earth system, so that God may retain his throne by having enough
people to rule over. .
And, I am continually greatful to Tom Kennedy, along with Thomas Greco, who
understand the need for "community" and "community currency". As does the
Earth Mother who will do what she needs to do in order to get God (and
religion) off her back so she may live and "do her duty" --IMHO.
And I shall continue researching and writing the book "The Sacred Quest"
using "multi-dimensional science" to support a sane point of view in a
thoroughly documented manner, rather than using short sound bites on this
list to respond to the inanities and insanities of most of those posting
here. And, I will continue to "share my findings" and welcome feedback from
others who have "done their homework" and aren't just blasting off from an
emotional point of view. . .
So, stop asking me to be "a follower" -- it ain't gonna happen. And, if
you want me to respect you and your opinion, then write your own book and
document it, and I may consider it if it is well constructed.
The "supposedly dumb" little old lady from the wilderness. eco

looking forward to contributions from the "integrative
thinker"
from MY pov (L Urban Kohler, 3-yr member of fixgov)
the handful of active Fixgov members do a lot of
"talking past each other" occasionally responding to
brief excerpts from each other's postings, but mostly
using Fixgov as a forum for elaborate meanderings, on
paths which seldom seem to intersect. . . . for MY
part, I keep doing it, for the times when someone
actually responds to something I write. I suppose I'm
as guilty as anyone on the list, of being
opportunistic about taking something someone else
writes and using it as a springboard for my own
harangues, but I guess we all think we have something
unique and insightful to offer.
I hope you can bring us together with your integrative
thinking . . . . . .
You may have to hang around a few weeks to see what I
mean, if you haven't been reading foxgov posts before
now . . . .
