Ric, thank you so much for forwarding this article. Not only can we reduce
emissions by going "veg" We can also eat 80% raw veggies, fruits, nuts and
seeds in order to preserve the healthy
enzymes destroyed by cooking foods We can use solar cookers to heat up the
other 20% of our diet, thus saving dramatically on energy useage in the home
(and in restaurants).
Here's some URLs to get you started on the path of discovery re: solar
cookers, drying foods, etc

Eco-designer, Jim Bell regularly bakes chocolate chip cookies (not the most
ideal veggie food, but an "attractor") at the San Diego Earth Day event,
using a cardboard box lined with aluminum foil A sheet of glass may be used
over the top of the box
Several years ago, I put on a workshop at San Diego State U which featured a
couple who cook only by solar. They built a straw bale house which featured
a built-in solar oven in the kitchen The luncheon they prepared for
workshop participants was delicious. Their house is situated to take
advantage of the sun and natural shade as well It is located in Borrego
Springs in the desert
Since I really feel that being "relocatable" at a "moment's " notice may be
key to survival in today's world, having a
solar cooker and knowing how to use it could mean the difference between
survival and extinction. We must each remember that life is going to change
dramatically as the global climate changes
And, IMHO, even that Prius will soon become a dinasaour, just as will the
home built on a foundation become an anchor around one's neck .
BTW, "The Sacred Quest" is planned as a trilogy, and the send part will
focus on "how to stay healthy" from both a
physical and emotional viewpoint Re: food, the emphasis will be on
maintaining a pH balanced diet
More later on this.

Took quite a few years in this carnivorous nation, but his assertions are
finally being recognized in the mainstream . . .
