Dear All,
Working with Moeen Yaseen of GlobalVision2000 three programmes have been done with PressTV. The three programmes are essentially current affairs analysis rather than the proposing of GJM solutions but it's early days...............
I apologise for previously forwarding program time Information which has turned out to be wrong. PressTV is big, fast-moving and very modern, and essentially concerned with news and current affairs. We are learning that the times of particular programmes are probably provisional because, day to day, news urgency dictates emphasis.
We are also told that PressTV aspires eventually to beating CNN and Fox News etc. Well, it is certainly very in touch with the zeitgeist and with the way events are moving and UK readers of say, The Guardian or The Independent would be comfortable with the programme content. There are studios around the world (or so it appears) and the content is quite detailed and goes surprisingly wide (e.g. even UK cricket, Ukraine etc)
Of the three PressTV programmes which were done yesterday and the day before, only one is available so far. This programme is now easily seen in the PressTV archive. Go to www.presstv.com , then hit "Programs" on the left-hand side, then "Between the headlines", and then "18th December, 2007" It's a very good programme to watch.
The next "Between the Headlines" programme, on the global financial crisis, is even better. However, this programme is some sort of special edition, we are told, and we got the impression that PressTV is holding it back to nearer Christmas. If it is put on this evening or whenever I will tell you.
The programme also on the Global Financial Crisis ("The Agenda" with Yvonne Ridley) was to have been broadcast today (Wednesday 19th) but this has not yet happened -- Moeen Yaseen thinks it will be broadcast next week. It is a substantial programme and, again, it could be that Press TV is holding it back to nearer Christmas..
Rodney Shakespeare.
PS. In future the archive information for any relevant programme will be notified so that GJM members can watch at their leisure.
