Robert, P.Sainath wrote an article on the three 9/11 in the history. Gandhi started Satyagraha in the month of September..Pinochet wishing to get reforms in Chile was removed through the machinations of corporations..In India, protests are getting intense as more and more farmers are getting organising. VP Singh ,former Prime Minister is leading the protest in Dadri Ghaziabad

Dear All,
Last night I was listening to talk sport, and
someone came on with an interesting idea. I have to
admit I have not come across this before from a member
of the public. Atleast, it shows that people are
becoming interested in more positive creative
solutions in politics. Indeed, something akin to
direct democracy was even posited on talk sport.
Anyway, the idea came from a caller whose first name
escapes me. Yet, he was willing to put up ?50,OOO to
get it going.
Anyway, the concept appears to be something on these
lines. He suggested that a public company could be set
up, and people could if they wish contribute towards
its financial well-being. It would be headed by
someone like Richard Branson, or some other respected
entrepreneur. Anyway, the aim of it was to fund
lawyers, and those of a like ilke who would if
necessary legally challenge any law which was felt not
be fully in the public interest.
The problem with such an approach is that any
"unpopular" legislation (both new, and existing)would
take alot longer to amend, pass, or indeed, passed at
all because of outside legal action. Moreover, it
could be argued that NGOs are already doing this job
via lobbying. Yet, I suspect the above idea would have
far greater legal clout because of the capital
invested in it. Inevitably, like everythng else it ALL
COMES BACK TO MONEY.

PS. Apparently, apart from being the anniversary of
the Twin Towers Terror Attack a caller on the George
Galloway Show on talk sport came up with the following
claim. It is this. It appears that 9/11 marks the
anniversary of Gandhis introduction of non-violent
demonstration in South Africa. I do not know how true
this but I may check it up later.
