Dear Marguerite ,
Craig Hubely a, friend of mine in Canada ,wanted all those involved in SETI get more interested in terra forming Mars with all the best produced through advanced work in nanotechnology, genetic engineering and robotics..He also cited Bill Joy who called for regulation of runaway technologies through his articles in the Wire magazine..
It all look like escaping from the problems here in this world through exercising routes of exit..that are psychological..my advocacy for global adoption of faith based measure is toward getting the global deceleration here and now...It is simple..

The article is unclear about the timing of the "pulses", but I'm
assume it means 5 *spikes* (as in the graph) over 10 minutes, a set
every 77 minutes? And at what frequency, or was it spikes of general
radio-frequency noise? Can there be a meaning in the timing and
intervals?
I hope the "Galactic Centerians" aren't waiting around for an answer,
but here's my proposal, pretending that humans are generally rational.
At the same frequency or spectral region, send 16 spikes in 16 sets
per day, equal blank time between sets as within sets, double that
blank time at the end of days, for a year, rounded off. This would
suggest to them the length of our day and year, and that we're
rational enough to use 16 as our number base, which perhaps computers
will lead us toward, long before we have to make further contact. Or
we might want to send one day's worth and then send a more complex
message, and maybe repeat it for a year. If we send it soon, they'll
have an idea how far away we are, and from the strength of our puny
signal, how advanced.
Of course it's possible that the signal is coming from somewhere
closer and just happens to be in line with the galactic center. Then
we might have to evolve a little faster, assuming we survive the next
century of global warming.

I found this article to be particularly interesting as it ties
in with some of the research I've conducted for the book
The Sacred Quest for the Biology of Consciousness.
The part about time being circular rather than linear is
also revealed in scientist Stephen Hawking's research.
Dr. Vernon Woolf also has some interesting insights on
this in his book: "Dance of Life" which fall into the category
of "Parallel Worlds". In a drawing in the book, taken from
Hawking's work with permission, time is shown to be more
like the figure 8 as it curves around and back on itself.
Thank you Nancy for this one.

I don't usually tune in to this Aztlan site, but this article is very
interesting. It would be of interest to those who have visited Peru.
