A CRITICAL WORLD QODS DAY
http://www.irna.ir/en/news/view/menu-236...132713.htm
World Qods Day, a day to demonstrate the Islamic people's unity, has been regarded as an influential day for Middle Eastern developments in the Islamic world's contemporary political history, said an English-language daily on Thursday.
In its opinion column, Tehran Times wrote that due to his comprehensive political approach and deep understanding of Islamic world issues, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the late Imam Khomeini, who was aware of the importance of Bait-ul Moqaddas (Jerusalem) for Muslims, designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as World Qods Day in 1979.
Most of the world's Muslims promptly responded to the Imam's designation of the day because they felt that the Bait-ul-Moqaddas issue, which had been a bone of contention among Muslims, Christians, and Jews for over 14 centuries, had once again been placed in the spotlight, it said.
The paper said the holy site has witnessed numerous religious disputes, including the Crusades, during the historical ups and downs of the Middle East.
To Muslims, Bait-ul-Moqaddas is where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to the heavens, it said, adding it was the Muslims' first qibla (direction of prayer) and is the third holy city of Islam after Mecca and Medina.
Qubbat-as-Sakhrah (the Dome of the Rock), which is located in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, was built in 691 CE by the Umayyad caliph Abd-al-Malik ibn Marwan.
"The green dome of the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a symbol of the Islamic world's unity," it stressed.
On the other hand, it went on to say, Bethlehem, which is close to Bait-ul-Moqaddas, is the birthplace of Jesus Christ (AS) and thus especially respected by Christians.
"Bait-ul-Moqaddas is a crossroads where all divine religions converge, and it should not be turned into a center of religious disputes," said the paper.
The daily noted that when Bait-ul-Moqaddas became a center of peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians, the Zionists began efforts to sow discord among them.
The Zionists occupied western Bait-ul-Moqaddas in 1948, and in the 1967 Six-Day War they occupied the eastern part of the historical and religious city, expelling tens of thousands of Muslim and Christian residents.
>From then on, the Zionists began efforts to gradually destroy the mosque by conducting excavations beneath the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the pretext the Temple of Solomon (AS) was located there.
A Zionist fanatic set the mosque on fire in 1969. In response, Islamic states founded the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to defend the holy city and established the Qods Committee in the same year.
The paper predicted that due to recent developments in Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan, more Muslims will participate in this year's Qods Day rallies.
"Through their massive demonstrations, the Muslims aim to show their animosity towards the terrorist actions committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation and to draw the attention of the White House to the Palestinians' problems," it said.
Palestinians are currently in a most difficult situation due mainly to an economic embargo but the international community continues to turn a blind eye to the Israeli army's crimes.
"Dozens of Palestinian women and children are shot point-blank by Israeli soldiers every day, and the Hamas government is also facing political plots hatched by the United States and Israel. This has given rise to a dangerous crisis in Palestine," underlined the paper.
"If the US and the European Union continue the economic embargo of Palestine and refuse to honor their financial commitments, the occupied territories will undoubtedly experience a mounting crisis and violence will reign in the Middle East once again," warned the paper.
But it noted that an escalation of violence is not in the interests of the Zionist regime nor the West because "the volatile Middle East region cannot withstand any more crises."
The article concluded by stressing that if the situation is not addressed, violence will certainly spill over into other regions and no power will be able to control it.

INTERNATIONAL QODS DAY MANIFESTATION OF TRUE ISLAMIC FAITH
http://www.irna.ir/en/news/view/line-17/...173019.htm
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that International Qods day is a day for confrontation between true Islamic faith with the global arrogance.
Speaking to the people in Islamshahr, southwest of the capital gathered to welcome the chief executive, he said "I am confident that the Iranian nation as the flag-bearer of justice, would herald an epic on International Qods Day for liberation of the holy Qods." "The Humanity is currently subject to numerous sufferings and the dilemma of the Zionist regime is the number one mishap for mankind, he said.
Formation of the Zionist regime, its practices, atrocities, systematic genocide it perpetrated against Palestinians formed the most bitter experience which took place in the past century, he said.
"The forgery regime formed with people coming from different parts of the world in the heart of Muslim World in the Middle East region is a disgrace to the mankind and the human dignity."
He said the Muslim nations will never recognize such a regime of diaspora even if after one hundred years.
Supporters of the Zionist regime should know that every day passes and every crime being perpetrated by the occupying regime would cause anger of nations in the region and that is why the nations call for liberation of holy Qods al-Sharif from the Zionist occupation.
Supporters of the Zionist regime and the US on top, should know that they share every crime being committed by the Zionists which which has driven the Middle East to death and blood.
