Dear Susmita,
Thanks for the mail. I think India Social Forum www.wsfindia.org is an occassion to discuss these issues and present the prescription as fighting globalisation of capital is a key obejective ..We need to point out that it is the usurious capital that needs to be eliminated. I hope you have seen my paper as well..at http://worldunitydays.net entitled transforming World Bank,IMF and WTO ..The paper has been discussed in the 1st Virtual Congress on World Citizenship..
I am marking a copy of this to Dr.BD Sharma jee as well who has pioneered the movement against usury in India and has already written booklets. I am also copying this to colleagues with whom I have discussed the issue of transforming finance sector.
I would like to find out if there is a possibility to discuss the approached for transofmring the ecologically hostile and usurious finance system as part of the Alternatives that will be discussed in ISF.I had discussed the issues with Mukul Sharma of World Dignity Forum and Ashok Bharti of National Conference of Dalit Organisations
Sincerely
Dr.Muhammad Mukhtar Alam

Dear Ashok and Muhammad
Greetings from Lexington, Ky! Somehow your past email
survived in my mailbox and wanted to connect.
I no longer subscribe to GJM and other lists, as I am
more engaged in other fronts now. Like to share my ideas
and recent educational discussion thread on Money
with a few NGOs and Activists in India and elsewhere.
May be you can help me reach to lists in India. I am talking about changing the
very definition and perception of money, ending usury (compound interest),
restoring issue and control of debt-free transparent money back to
people (since money is a collective agreement), giving universal
basic income to all citizens (users of basic goods/services) to protect
all humans right to life and potential ability to create wealth, ending
speculation with currency (which is not a store of value or a commodity
in itself), ending world domination of one/two currency and much more.
Thanks for your help. Would appreciate any feedback on my article.

Banks earn phenomenal Profits as they charge an
account 30 to 100 times with transaction charges
and often Banks profits are unknown to public.
It is time perhaps to review the workings of Banks-
are they meant to be a safe companion for our people
are a money minting machines for themselves. How Much..?
is the question.

BD Sharma for national alliance of Peoples Movement concluded the national meet of the farmers organised in the background of reports of more distress and suicides due to usurious debts. It is time we speak more and more across the forums for transforming national and global finance institutions and call for releasing interest free loans for ecologically sustainable leivelihoods and equity..
