Dear MH,
I am not implying in any way that you are
obtuse. I just find your outlook on things somehow
pointless, and unoriginal. If you came up with some
marvellous technology to perhaps suck up, or even
disperse the greenhouse gases into space I would
respect you more (ie.geo-engineering).
Ofcourse, civilizations have risen, and fallen in the
past..Yet, our understanding now about the world, and
how it can be reformed is far more advanced than
before. I would rather take a positive attitude
towards the future, but it does require realistic
original thinking which is so desparetely needed.
Over-consumption, and over-production are not going to
disappear overnight in a transfinancial economy. But,
we would have at least the finance available for it to
happen in a more sustainable way with the use of
advanced technologies. NGOs opposed to it on
principle would still exist but would be more
influential because they would be better funded. Greed
is not going to disappear overnight but for the time
being it could be contained, and trained in such a way
to give rise to a better, and more just world. This is
where the TFE paradigm comes in.
Regards,
Robert Searle
