[GJM] [Intertax] What Would YOU Really Do? 3.

Unfortunately, we are "programmed" both to behave "selfishly" for survival
(territoriality, competition, etc.) AND to behave "unselfishly"
(compassion, cooperation,etc.). The newer parts of the brain facilitating
cooperation, communication, foresight, etc. must be highly educated,
developed,
nurtured "holistically" to minimize default to the older, less creative
brain.
This is the tragic human dilemma. While we have compiled great wisdom
over the millenia with which to behave lovingly, responsibly, ethically, it
remains inadequate to counteract the motivations of the exclusive and
violent among us. It will take an unprecedented interdisciplinary, global,
multicultural effort to wage peace through the just sharing of resources.
Personally, I can no longer imagine such selflessness on the part of
those enslaved by fear, testosterone and aggressive brain stem activity.
