The situation in the Middle East is escalating into a dangerous
international crisis. In response to the capture of one of their soldiers
the Israeli Government have:
 Deprived civilian populations of water and electricity
 Traumatised the Palestinian people by flying sound-barrier shattering F16s
low over urban areas
 Slaughtered civilians on their streets and in their homes
 Kidnapped and imprisoned democratically elected politicians
 Blockaded and bombed Lebanon.

The response of the British government these latest war crimes, acts of
terror and collective punishment has been silence. This meeting has been
organised to demand that the British government exert every possible
pressure on Israel to end immediately its invasions of Gaza and Lebanon and
start negotiations with the Palestinian leadership to withdrawal from the
occupied occupied territories in Palestine, as specified under UN Security
Council Resolution 242, passed in 1967.

Nearly 40 years later it is time to implement this resolution and bring the
suffering of the Palestinian people to an end. Come to this public meeting
and add your voice to the call for justice for Palestine.
