Hi Bill, thanks for your contribution which I am fwd to the Co-Learner's
list.
I feel you are right about the Gaian paradigm being revolutionary -- and,
of course since the founders of the "dominator paradigm" were those who
began the religious movement in order to enforce
domination/patriarchy/global monetocracy rule, in order to maintain control
of the masses for their benefit, now see this new movement as a real threat
to their hierarchy. But the Internet leaves no place to hide -- "the emperor
has no clothes".
You ask who will write a new article, but what appears to me as the "first
step" is to find a new
language in which to script it. In The Biology of Transcendence, John
Chilton Pearce writes to the effect that we are "all writing" but we don't
as yet quite know how to express the form of the "new human" that is shaping
up from what science now reveals. As I research and write "The Sacred Quest"
I am acutely aware that "who the new human is," based in the "new science,"
departs greatly from how the human of the past has been depicted. And, as
one dwelves deep, one begins to understand why there has been a great effort
to suppress and make "bunk" of spirituality and enforce religion as "The Way
" as the pieces of the puzzle begin to emerge and merge. . . .
Among many of the "new scientists" is a common belief based in scientific
research, that we are designed as "quantum computers". And, what is
unfolding as I uncover new evidence and attempt to bring it together from
multi-dimensional sources, is that each of us as a computer is connected to
every other computer in the Universe and networked together we form a
mega-computer" which computes and spits out "directionality" (if I may be
permitted to use this word for lack of a better one at present.) Others,
for lack of a better term would maintain the word "God" here as a descriptor
of the "controllor" of directionality.
So, what a shock -- heretofore one thinks one is solid matter made of flesh
and bones and then one wakes up one morning to find one is an infinite
electromagnetic field which is composed of "nothingness".when examined under
a magnifying glass, but which sends out messages/in-form-ation as subtle
energy vibrations which may travel faster than the speed.of light.
But do not dispair, we are not "tin wo/men" but are made of liquid
crystalline (also a superconductor) and we do have a heart and a brain. .
More later as the story of "who we really are" unfolds.

Many of us think that the transition from the 'dominator paradigm' to
the "Gaian paradigm" is such a revoution. In fact the scientific
revelation that the cosmos is a interconnected network of holons within
holons reveals that we are all interdependent. Any change in any piece
of the cosmos causes a change throughout the network of which we are
part. Gaia (the Earth and all of it life forms} is a typical example
of the interdependence of holons withing both the physical cosmos and
the global social network. The Golden Rule has a scienctific base.
If you would like more on the GaianParadigm see:

But narrowing it to the Copernican/Darwin revolution brings to mind the
'coming out' of atheist and others promoting the rejection of God
theories. The books of Dawkins, Harris, Dennet, Smith, Smolin, and
many other promote the rejection of any kind of magic, miracles, gods,
bibles, divinity or other speculations on a outside design for the
evolution of the cosmos. This is a radical break from the religious
tolerance that has been (and is) to social norm of our society.
Most people, including most scientists, have (and do) ignore the
religion and simply let anyone believe anything they wish. Now with
the rise of Islamic fundamentalism and the incursion of Christian
Fundamentalism into American politics there is a ground swell of
repudiation of all unreasoned faiths. There is a recognition that if
you give an inch they will take a mile. A passive membership in a UU
church or even acceptance of the New Christianity of Bishop Spong i
support for those who take reasoned Christianity to radical ends.
Even the most benign faiths encourage those who promote ten
commandments in court houses, prayer in schools, forbidding stem cell
research, ending gay marriages, teaching creationism, and all sorts of
unsupportable ideas.
The question we should be answering in this list is "What can we do to
promote the 'There is not God' movement?"
Who wants to write a modern "A Piece of Chalk," "The Soul of an
Apathist," or other essays that show the irrelevance of God theories?
IMHO
